Minutes: April 19, 2012
Minutes for April 26.
My replacement, Evan Thompson is absent. I think making me take minutes during my own farewell is completely unacceptable, don’t you? .

The Meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM.
There were 2 first time guests, 3 returning guests, and 2 alumni.
Mr. Heigl honored the society as critic.
[there was a motion to move New Business after petitions] .
In Programs.
Dr. Knox, as per article 18 section 2 of the Demosthenian by-laws, gave his report. His “Ministry of Presence” will continue, as he feels that he can still do good in the society. .
Regretfully, he will be absent for farewells, as he must be in D.C with his son at the History Bowl. .
In Petitions.
Yemaya Johnson spoke on the tradition from being an art student to being something resembling an adult.
Bilal Ibrahim gave his not-personal views on gender and domestic violence.
Both were accepted into the society.
In New Business.
BIR The Society shall adopt the previously discussed adhoc committee as put forth by Mr. Thomas Beusse on April 19th.
RS Susana Baker.
Alumni are nice, but their money is better. .
There was an amendment proposed for a “Sunset provision” to dissolve the committee upon project completion, which passed 24-4.
The Resolution passed 31-0 (i.e. unanimously) .

Ms. Dodd- Announced the Spring Banquet on the 28th
Mr. Douds- Knows nothing of any sort of party.
Mr. Goldman- The Toombs Portrait requires hanging wire.
